When you self-host n8n, you're responsible for everything beyond the application itself: provisioning a VPS, installing Docker, configuring a reverse proxy, setting up SSL certificates, managing updates, monitoring uptime, and handling backups. For developers comfortable with Linux and DevOps, this is doable, but it typically takes a full day to set up correctly, and an ongoing time commitment to maintain. If something breaks at 2am, that's your problem.

With a paid plan at N8Nme, you get a dedicated VPS with n8n pre-installed and fully configured, ready in under 5 minutes. We handle updates, daily backups, uptime monitoring, and infrastructure management. Your instance runs on your own VPS, not shared infrastructure, so you get the same data ownership and control as self-hosting, without any of the maintenance burden. Think of it as self-hosting, but with a team handling the ops side for you.

Your paid plan n8n instance runs on a dedicated VPS assigned exclusively to you, it's not shared with other users. This means your workflows, credentials, and data are isolated at the infrastructure level, not just behind a login screen.

N8Nme staff do not have routine access to your instance or your data. Administrative access is limited strictly to infrastructure-level operations (e.g. applying security patches or resolving a critical outage), and only when necessary. Your workflow data, API credentials, and execution logs stay on your VPS.

For EU-based users, your Free plan instance is hosted in Germany. Paid plan instances can be deployed in a region of your choice, keeping data residency within your preferred jurisdiction. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

When you sign up, N8Nme gives you access to a library of 9,000+ pre-built n8n workflows covering hundreds of use cases: lead enrichment, Slack notifications, invoice generation, CRM syncing, e-commerce automation, and much more. Your plan determines how many of these you can install directly into your n8n instance with a single click (1 on Free, up to 50 on Expert).

These are not hard limits on how many workflows you can run. Once your instance is live, you can build and run as many additional workflows as you like, the install count simply reflects how many you have installed into your n8n instance. You can also import any n8n workflow from the community (n8n.io/workflows) or build your own from scratch. The library installs are a convenience, not a ceiling.

Secret Tip: Install a workflow to try it out. If it fits your needs, duplicate it and uninstall the original so the count goes down again. Sssshhhh, don't tell anyone ;)

Upgrading: When you move from the Free plan to any paid plan, N8Nme automatically migrates all your existing workflows, credentials, and settings to your new dedicated VPS. Nothing is lost and nothing needs to be reconfigured (except maybe custom API endpoints you have set up yourself), your automations keep running without interruption.

Downgrading: If you move to a lower plan, your instance will be adjusted to reflect the new plan's specs. We recommend exporting your workflows beforehand (n8n has a built-in export function) as a precaution, though we aim to preserve your data throughout the process.

Cancelling: Upon cancellation, you have a grace period of 30 days to export all your workflows and credentials from your instance. n8n makes this straightforward — everything can be exported as JSON files and imported into any other n8n instance, whether that's another managed host or a self-hosted setup. You're never locked in: your workflows are yours, in an open format, always.

n8n Cloud is n8n's own hosted service, convenient, but built on shared infrastructure, with pricing tied to workflow executions (the number of times your workflows run). As your automations scale, costs on n8n Cloud grow quickly and unpredictably.

N8Nme gives you a dedicated VPS, your own isolated server, not shared with anyone. This means better performance, stricter data isolation, and no execution-based pricing. You pay a flat monthly fee regardless of how many times your workflows run. For users running high-frequency automations (e.g. every few minutes, processing thousands of records), this makes n8nme significantly more cost-effective at scale.

The other key difference is flexibility. Because your instance is a standard VPS running Docker, you're not constrained by platform-level restrictions. You can install custom n8n nodes, adjust environment variables, and configure the instance to your exact needs, something n8n Cloud doesn't allow.
